Emil Olsen
Emil Olsen is a neurologist at IVC Evidensia Specialist Animal Hospital Strömsholm in Sweden and a part time clinical lecturer at the Swedish Agricultural University (SLU).
Emil graduated from University of Copenhagen in 2005 and went into general ambulatory equine practice until 2009 where he undertook a PhD at University of Copenhagen researching subjective and objective assessment of gait in ataxic horses carried out at the Royal Veterinary College in the U.K. In 2013 he went on to a large animal internal medicine residency at Cornell Nemo farm animal and equine Teaching Hospital and in 2014 a dual residency in Neurology. Hi holds both diplomas in Large Animal Internal Medicine and Neurology.
Emil’s research interests are focused on gait analysis in animals with proprioceptive ataxia and activity monitoring as a biomarker for pain as well as inflammatory and infectious neurologic diseases and very much enjoys veterinary education.
