Massimiliano Degani
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pisa in 2016, Massimiliano carried out a postgraduate Erasmus traineeship at the University of Cordoba, gaining initial experience in anaesthesia. In 2018, he completed a specialized internship in anesthesia at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Murcia. From 2018 to 2021, he worked in the Anesthesia Department of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of Pisa.
In 2022, Massimiliano obtained a Level II Master's degree in Small Animals Anesthesia and Intensive Care from the University of Pisa, presenting a thesis on the perioperative analgesic effects of quadratus lumborum block in laparoscopic ovariectomy. Since 2022, he has been a Resident of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) and a PhD candidate in Veterinary Anesthesia at the Clinique Vétérinaire Universitaire of the University of Liège.
His research focuses on locoregional anaesthesia, particularly on the analgesic efficacy of ultrasound-guided interfascial blocks for perioperative pain management in dogs and cats.
